Afio Mai Samoa Day Festival is a dynamic, multi-day celebration of Samoan and Polynesian culture that highlights our traditions, values, and community spirit. The festival brings together people from across Las Vegas and beyond to participate in a variety of events, including:

• Sports Tournaments (volleyball, basketball, rugby, football, pickleball, and more)

• Cultural Competitions showcasing Samoan arts, language, and traditions

• Workshops and Hands-on Activities like basket weaving, fire making, and traditional orations

• The Miss Samoa USA Pageant, where young women compete for the prestigious title

The festival is a time to honor our heritage, empower the younger generation, and build a stronger, more connected Samoan & Polynesian community.

 

2. When and where will the Afio Mai Samoa Day Festival take place?

The Afio Mai Samoa Day Festival will take place over three event weekends at Liberty High School in Henderson, NV:

• Sports Tournament: April 11–12, 2025

• Cultural Competition & Activities: May 16–17, 2025

• Miss Samoa USA Pageant: July 25–26, 2025

The events will take place on-site at Liberty High School, which offers spacious grounds to accommodate various sporting activities, performances, and cultural showcases.

 

3. Can anyone attend the festival?

Yes, absolutely! The Afio Mai Samoa Day Festival is open to everyone, regardless of heritage. While the festival celebrates Samoan and Polynesian culture, it is a community event designed for all to enjoy. Whether you’re interested in attending the sports tournaments, cultural performances, food booths, or educational workshops, there is something for everyone in the family.

 

4. Do I need to register to attend the festival?

You do not need to pre-register to attend the festival itself, but certain events do require registration, including the Sports Tournament and Miss Samoa USA Pageant. These events require participants to sign up in advance so we can prepare properly. You’ll find the registration links and instructions on the event-specific flyers and on our website.

 

5. How can I participate in the Sports Tournament?

The Sports Tournament will take place on April 11–12, 2025, featuring competitions in volleyball, basketball, rugby, football, pickleball, and more.

To participate, your team will need to complete the Sports Team Registration Form on our website. Please provide all necessary details, including team roster and contact information. Once registered, you will receive further instructions regarding game schedules, location, and other relevant details.

• Who can compete? Participants must be 14 years old or older to join the sports competitions.

• Can I watch the games? Absolutely! The tournament is open to the public, and we encourage everyone to come and cheer on their teams.

 

6. What is the entry fee for the festival?

The entry fee will vary for each festival series. See event tickets specified for each series you attend. ​​If you plan on attending multiple days, you’ll need to purchase an entry ticket for each day. 

 

7. Can I become a food vendor at the festival?

Yes! We are currently accepting applications from food vendors interested in showcasing their offerings at the festival. If you are interested in becoming a food or general vendor, please fill out the Vendor Application Form on our website.

Vendor spaces are limited, and all vendors must comply with local health regulations and festival guidelines. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

There are many ways to get involved and support the Afio Mai Samoa Day Festival:
